One Serious Song

Created some time ago for the Stormrider project. I've tried to put in some '70 police-series feel into it, since the subject of the lyrics could have been derived from a '70-s police series episode plot. The vocals were deliberately mixed to background with a lot of reverb added to them because this is designed to be played REAL LOUD! (so you can actually hear what's being said, and be blasted away by the instrumental bits in the process!)

This one came from my rocker chick daze. It was the wildest adventure tying to get this song converted and uploaded! I hope it was worth it. ei: I hope you like it! It seems the taste on the site is alittle bit hard rock. This is hard core man! =) It's a little long and the lead is a bit repetative, I am no longer with this band nor will I re-record it, so here it is, as is....the only other really worthy backup song on reserve in my recorded music library.....the moment we've all been waiting for lol!!!!!!!!!!

"International cooperation 4 the first time ever that we are aware of. Combining different studios and recording techniques. The process hit many snags but via constant email and Yahoo messanger these were ironed out.

JBP acted as the hub of the experiment and was in final control of all editing. We hope u like it and can inspire u all to talk to each other. " Swordfish

Five Lost Friends V2

The new improved version of five lost friends. Waaaay better. and faster.

VERSE 1

Seems she's burned like a cigarette,
Tangled up in the fishing net,
Gone and caught herself again.

She's so tired from fighting this,
fingers wrapped into battle fists,
Lost all energy to stand.

CHORUS

She lost five,
Five of her friends
She doesn't know,
Know as of yet,
She has heard,
she lives in the dark.

X2

VERSE 2

And she'd be tall if she only tried,
Always landing the easy side,
Flip a coin the battle won.

She'd be hurt if she only knew,
What she'd done and who came through,
All her friends wear half a smile.

CHORUS

She lost five,
Five of her friends
She doesn't know,
Know as of yet,
She has heard,
she lives in the dark.

X2

This is a song I made some time ago. Did not know really what do with it and I sent my track to JBP. So he completed the tune with a melody, lyrics, guitars and vocals.

So it has become another wonderful song (I think) in this colaboration between JBP and me.

The first title was "the trash song". But anyhow this is what we are coming up with. And if you like it.....

....... please please rate it

Well, in the name of love I represent you Maya...enjoy!

Hazy Eyes

You smash my heart with your words.
It won't break,
It won't break,
This anesthetic won't work,
It just hurts me.

I wish I knew where I came from,
I wish I knew where I'd been.

I don't,
Need you,
I don't,
Need you.

The lights are going down,
Look at us we're fading out,
It's beens good to have you,
That look across your face,
Distorted, crushed and hazy eyed,
Fuck your white lies.

You pull me back all the time,
I won't wait,
I won't wait,
You drag me down but I'll climb,
I won't fall down.

I wish I knew where I came from,
I wish I knew where I'd been.

I don't,
Need you,
I don't,
Need you.

The lights are going down,
Look at us we're fading out,
It's beens good to have you,
That look across your face,
Distorted, crushed and hazy eyed,
Fuck your white lies.

Look away,
And I'll be,
And I'll be there,
In front.

Mental Trap

Progressive Rock Song.
This is the re-make of Progressive ( Demo). Now it has lyrics.

I mixed many styles and influences to make it interesting to listen. You will find all kind rock styles, plus some samba and jazz and some ballad part.

The song is long, but I PROMISE you WON'T get BORED.

Really worked hard to make a good sound quality, considering my sources are just my electric guitar with a multi-effect, my $3 mic and my PC.

Wanna thank to PuppetXeno, Sworfish and TritonKeyboarder who gave some advices to improve the sound of this.

Guess the lyrics and vocals are not my strongest point but I did was I was able to.

Please, listen it till the end. You won't get bored. And use headphones if you have, sounds better that way.

      > Iszil

PS: Here goes lyrics:

Let me take you to a place
Where nothing can harm you
No lines between pain and love

Forget about the fear your feel
Clear your mind and then enjoy
Have the time of your life

Music is the blood that
Runs thru’ your veins
Feel it spreading all over you

Warm rushing in
Overtaking your senses
Your soul comes alive!

Run away
Quickly
Rush away
And don’t return

Life is now
As it was then
But you are alone
You have no friend

When you feel a knife
Is stabbed in your back,
Just relax cause it’s me

Don’t try to run or to hide
Cause you have fallen
Into my mental trap

High

Well... this song was conceived in the small room above my parents' garage. I thought of it while I was showering. That's pretty much the whole story...

So I just deleted it because there was this huge gap around the middle. (I kind of didn't listen to it before uploading the first time). so now the gap is gone....

I'd appreciate it if people would leave some feedback, and... like... do something... if they like it.

Any comments, concerns, complaints... or really anything that has to do with anything is welcome.

High

Well... this song was conceived in the small room above my parents' garage.

Thanks

Butch

Butch raised hell on several different occasions and inadvertantly caused some life-changing decisions to be made.

This song is sort of different from what I usually do.

Let me know how it goes.

update 5/18: well, it's only been here since May... but I've decided to enter it in the June Battle! so pleeeeze vote!
thanks

All That I Can Be

Well Here it is. The first track off my piano EP. (well actually the second, this is just the first I've uploaded)

The vocals were double tracked and recorded in my friend's flat using some pretty basic gear. The piano was recorded in a 300 year old chapel on a grand piano. Which had an extremely loud pedal but it's not too noticable thankfully.

My good friend Bella put double bass in a few of the tracks which sounds beautiful.

VERSE 1

I know all the things that people say I hear them everyday.
And I know all the things you like and dislike in me.
But I’m not ready for this kind of conversation where you break down,
What I am and what i wish that I could be.

I’m this passive little angel underneath it all,
But come across as something harder to digest, I guess.
When i’m older and i’m wiser I will know my weaker side,
But for now I’m young and bold enough with nothing here to hide.

CHORUS:

And I,
Had always been the same one there.
And I,
Am not the one who’s changed round here

X2

Didn’t you notice that?

VERSE 2

I’m aware of all remarks in absence of my presence,
I’m well informed of what i should and shouldn’t say.
And I have trouble with my foot and what I put it in,
I am walking I am moving but I only seem to stay.

I am sure I’ll never change i’ll probably always stay the same,
There’s nothing left I haven’t lost before that I can’t lose again.
So i’ll continue on my way before I go I’d like to say,
I’m only one man. With two hands. I’m all that I can be.

CHORUS:

OUTRO:

I’m only one man with two hands I’m all that I can be.
(Two hands I am all I can be)

I’m only one man with two hands I’m all that I can be.
(Two hands I am all I can be)

I’m only one man with two hands I’m all that I can be.
(Two hands I am all I can be)

This is my first acoustic song with my new electro-acoustic guitar. I'm trying to get used to it, so don't hope a great tune of this. Just some nice melodies with some soloing.
Hope you like it, but this is not really serious.

A Lighter Shade of..

A Lighter Shade of Blue

This is a really rough draft of a song I've had knocking around since the start of the year, but can't quite get the way I want. It has no bass and no drums, and the recording quality is far from the best!!!

Lyrics are posted here: http://forum.bandamp.com/Lyrics_Review/16220.html

Tell me what you think - should I carry on and record it properly, or not bother?

Comments please,

A campy, simple little song. The recording quality is not the best, but hey - we all do what we can. Looking forward to your honest feedback.

Our band is called Honey - we're currently recording our first full length. This song is an older, unmixed version...recorded with some former band mates. When the new one is done I'll pop it up. Please vote! :D

Piantati la Grana In Casa played live whit Toxic Tuna , my Ska Band from Milan.
The same idea , but more ska , obvoiusly.
The trumpet and my sax solos are improvised ( not very well , but we try..)
this was taken from an exibition at Colorno in winter of 2006.
Probably this will be the definitive version from the ska side , but still working with other bands.....
Hope you'll like.

Evergreen

Finally! It works! this is quite seriously my 6th attempt at getting this song to load and play. Well done Chester. Well done.

Yes, so this is an old song... but has always held sentimental value with me :)

Check out my other stuff, I load another 2 songs today. A piano one, and then half a song... because i lost the other half... long story.

Seems a lot of people are adding lyrics. So I thought I'd put mine on a couple of songs :)

VERSE 1

So you’ve run away again?
And left nothing in your place.
Except a shadow and a sin,
Etched forever in your space.

PRECHORUS:

Than she turns to you and smiles,
At where you’ve been.
And says life ain’t,
Evergreen.

CHORUS:

Come fall down,
Get blown around.
You’re a leaf up in the air,
And it’s the autumn of your year.

VERSE 2

Well time is coming round the bend,
It seems you try too hard to smile.
And it’s only near the end,
That you find your inner child.

PRECHORUS:
It’s always,
Inbetween.
That you find life ain’t,
Evergreen.

CHORUS:

Come fall down,
Get blown around.
You’re a leaf up in the air,
And it’s the autumn of your year. X2

OUTRO:

You’re a leaf up in the air,
And it’s the autumn of your year.
Your year.

Etched forever in your space.

PRECHORUS:

Than she turns to you and smiles,
At where you’ve been.
And says life ain’t,
Evergreen.

CHORUS:

Come fall down,
Get blown around.
You’re a leaf up in the air,
And it’s the autumn of your year.

VERSE 2

Well time is coming round the bend,
It seems you try too hard to smile.
And it’s only near the end,
That you find your inner child.

PRECHORUS:
It’s always,
Inbetween.
That you find life ain’t,
Evergreen.

CHORUS:

Come fall down,
Get blown around.
You’re a leaf up in the air,
And it’s the autumn of your year. X2

OUTRO:

You’re a leaf up in the air,
And it’s the autumn of your year.
Your year.

I like to live life out loud. This song is an example of how loud and intense I like to experience some of life's things, ... I'm really interested how this song affects you as a listener, and what you think of it. If you can find the time, please let me know.

reminder: this is long, long version! (extended, not the "short / radio" edit!)

Get Ya

very very old, made with an Atari and a Fostex 4 tracker (tape, remember?:-))
my mic preamp was boosted maximum, so my breathing sounds like escaping steam...,all because i did the vocals very late-night in an apartment, so i couldn't scream/yell,which i otherwise would have done. Also the lyrics are merely improvised, so that's why some words are pronounced strange :D
But i liked it because of the ,,steamy,, atmosphere, so i remastered the stereotrack a little with Magix, and removed the tape-hiss also...
What u think???

Falldown!

Loads of Rock here... an other styles.
This is the next song after Mental Trap; for the ones who knows it you will realize it follows the same musical line.

In this song I played guitars ( electric and acoustics), bass ( not good bass player), flute ( neither a good Ian Anderson, but I did my best), and I sing ( nor a Bocelli or a Geddy Lee, but tried to sing well).

Mixed some styles here, like Rock music with funk and celtic, to give it a nice touch.

Hope you like, and I promise you won't get bored. Worked hard on this one.

PS: Any mistake, please tell me.

Lyrics:

Purple hazes of toxic gases
Covering the sky, darkening my sight
Clouds are closing, it’s getting dim
Body’s twisting; feel in a dream

Hey you! The red-eyed man
Take me out, is a command
But a part of me wanna stay
May be I like it, may be I don’t care

Take it easy, you are not alone
The ache is only your comfort
It’s not a question, it’s just a fact
But you must walk, it’s a long path

A rope is rolling around my neck
The same that caused Judas death
I try to breath, I try to scape
I’m getting desperate; it is too late

The fallen angels fly again
The earth is moving; it seems the end
And this is not a way to die
In a scary place. Run, I might?

Won’t this stop? won’t this cease?
Will I resist? Will I break free?
This overcomes me, I’m not that strong
Oh, god! Help me; I’m another moron

The sun is shinning, the birds now sing
The green is growing; I can live
The calm is returning, my body’s rested
I feel sleepy; pillow under head

V1. Down by the road, we kick some stones,
well it's not too far, just count the stars.
V2. In the tower room, a sonic boom,
that's way too loud to even make a sound.
Chorus: (and the) Lighthouse station playin' all night long, across the nation they're hummin' along. From Canada over to Hong Kong, a new sensational one hit wonder song.
V3. Down by the sea, we learn to breathe,
we love to challenge, the balance. - Chorus.
Bridge: and there we are, your peacock charm and my pelican elegance, trying to get at the essence! - Chorus.

ATTENTION:
I have changed profile. My new profile is found at http://bedroomsessions.bandamp.com/.

This is an early studio demo recording my band Wasted Days did.

It was one of the first songs we ever wrote and I have some fond memories from performing it! Looking back, it could have been done better (there are some glaringly off-key melody and bass parts...) but I just wanted to share this with you all.

Come Over Here

A stab at writing a medium, upbeat radio worthy piece, with a female vocalist in mind. There's an ending drum machine blurb and a flat vocal note in a spot, but all in all, pretty alright, I think.

Hear's the words:

Come over here beside me, and tell me where have you been?
You say your man's done made some other plans, and now you're out . . .
but without him?
Come over here beside me. I'd like to get with you . . .
and we could do all them things like we used to do . . .
me and you.

I've been missin' sweet kissin' . . . the way our lips fit I never wanna quit it.
Let's watch the sunrise up in each others eyes, come on, baby, over here.
(come on . . . if your comin' )

Come over here beside me, don't ya think you been gone enough?
You're lookin' hot, I'd like another shot at your love.
can't get enough.
Come over here beside me, that's all I ask of you.
The stars are bright in the sky and the moon's brand new,
n' made for two!

I've been missin' sweet kissin' . . . the way our lips fit, I never wanna quit it,
We'll have a good time, downin' the moon shine, come on, baby, over here.
(come on . . . if you're comin' )

Come over here beside me, and grab a hold of my hand,
Let's take a chance on romance, baby love me again, let's love again
Come over here beside me, back where you belong. The night is young,
and I'm ready now to drive you home . . . get you alone.

I've been missin' sweet kissin'. The way our lips fit, don't never wanta quit it.
I'll watch the sunrise, in baby blue eyes. Come on baby, over here.
I've been missin' sweet kissin'. The way our lips fit, I never wanta quit it.
Let's share a love bite, out in the the moon light. Come on, baby, over here.
Come on baby, over here.
(Come on . . . if you're comin' )

Noise experimentation... I've decided to put it up here because I took a whole different workflow on the project this is part of and am thinking about getting into this style again...

Good idea, no? Lemme know what you think :)

and... please don't forget to rate this song - though I've taken it out of the battle

ps. this doesn't feature sampled loops or anything, it's all built from the ground up, hardware only.

for your info this song sounds exactly as intended; yes, overdriven. it's noise... and I've puts lots of effort in there to get all the effects right... please understand this, and that the production quality of this project is, to my own will, pretty much as crisp as I could get it.... thank you for your time....

Noise experimentation... I've decided to put it up here because I took a whole different workflow on the project this is part of and am thinking about getting into this style again...

Good idea, no? Lemme know what you think :)

and... please don't forget to rate this song - though I've taken it out of the battle

This is the first ever song I recorded. Thats why it sounds so bad. I hadn't figured out how to use my audio software properly. My voice sounds terrible on this. I did it in one take and didn't change it. I may re-record this song again if I can find the original file. Anywhoo, tell me what you think.

I thought: " If Van Halen has his Eruption, why I cannot have my Volcano?".
So I tried to imagine myself in front a huge public, and then play only bullshit, and this is what came out.

PS: Has many mistakes, but it was one-take-solo as all improvisations... lol.

I don't need you
You don't need me
I don't need you and me to be "we"
I don't need your #$%ing around
I don' t need the words that come from your mouth
I don't need your second-hand trust
I don't think your love is a must...

This is a song I wrote lyrics and music to, and recorded all in under 2 hours... I probably shouldn't be admitting that, but I thought the end product was kinda cool, so I decided to post it.

This is a co-production of me and PuppetXeno.
I just played the guitar and the synth and he added the fantastic lyrics and drums. I really think its a great song because of Puppets work. I hope you enjoy it.

Station

so I've tried to live my nights in black
and my days in sleep-in dreams
but now it's cold along the metal trail
where the hours on hours drip by too slow

and the wind cuts through my coat
as the lights cut through the rain
as I ache with every sigh
blinding thoughts they only dwell to strain

I stepped up into the glass
it was a scent that drove me here
it was a kiss that put me back
and I could not persevere

and so I've lived my nights in black
I lived to all my failing might
and though the lights are closing now
I shall try to stay aside

School Contest

This is the acoustic version of a song I composed for a competition with some school... for a drum kit as prize.
The idea is to play a funky song, so you must figure how this could sound and funk, and with a funky vocals too.
I just sung in a clean way so we can be selected, cause the idea of the song that are selected is that must be clear, but as we classify I'm gonna change the whole way of singing... Hehehe.
Lyrics are in spanish, but I'll post them anyway so If you want to read just use a translator.

Abyss ( Demo)

This is the demo for a song.

The story of this song goes like this:

I wanted to record and acoustic ballad and, well, I composed a nice melody and the recorded it. The problem came when I tried to record vocal parts; I don't have a good voice and I was going really hard to record my vocal line. So, what I did? The bassist of my band met a guy who said he had a good voice. Well I talked with him by MSN ( don't know him personally) and gave him the lyrics I wrote, the guitar line I recorded, and I recorded, me singing, an idea of the vocals.
Well, he recorded it and here is the result.

There are thing we both don't like and must be checked and re-recorded. But also there are many things I really like! ( which are the most).

What I wanted is to ask you all the bandampers to tell me what you like, what you don't, what we must keep, what must be out, what technically is wrong, etc.
I'd love to read your opinions to improve this, what I think, is a good song.

Please leave comments, specially the experts here like PuppetXeno, who really know a lot about this.
I guess that's the idea of this GREAT site.

Musical melody: Iszil
Solo: Iszil
Lyrics: Iszil
Vocals general idea: Iszil
Vocals work and final melody: Yeyo
Voices: Yeyo.

Here goes lyrics:

Verse 1:
It was a burning bush for a savior
And a messiah had his star
It was and angel for a prophet
And I have an I-don’t-know-what
Verse 2:
It was a woman for Neruda
It was a female for Dalí
It was a mademoiselle for Lennon
And it’s the doom for me

Pre-chorus:
How can I survive
To the fate that’s ripping my life
How can I keep breathing
With those storms hitting me

Chorus:
Learn from the people that’s around
Just walk away
Don’t try to stick to a wound
That’s Yesterday, let go

Verse 4:
But nothing more remains
Except my shadow in the rain
Of the tears coming from your smile
Only saying: “Just for a while”
Verse 5:
And that weight is stuck here
Between my faith and my dreams
Stopping me from reaching
The aroma of your pain

Pre-chorus:
How can I survive
To the fate that’s ripping my life
How can I keep breathing
With those storms hitting me

Chorus:
Learn from the people that’s around
Just walk away
Don’t try to stick to a wound
That’s Yesterday, let go

Bridge:
(Subconscious):
Now advance to the abyss of your death.
And let your mind go black
So your soul will fly again
And your body will fall down, to forget

Chorus:
Learn from the people that’s around
Just walk away
Don’t try to stick to a wound
That’s Yesterday, let go
Chorus:
Learn from the people that’s around
Just walk away
Don’t try to stick to a wound
That’s Yesterday, let go

Hope you all like it, and please live a comment.

The Jump (Overture)

It's a imrpovisation we made with my band, of course with a base line prepared, but it's almost a full improvisation. I play keyboards and the bassist plays the bass in the first part and guitar in the second.
It's a long song, but i love to listen to it cuz we really enjoyed playing it. It's a really Pink Floydish style.

PS: I'll soon try to upload "Jugo (Closing)" that i guess is better... i've been trying to upload it at least 10 times but doesnt work.
