The great thing about this is that you are aware that you're in a strumming rut and want to do something about it/

BE Proactive.... get as much information as you can about strumming techniques and work your skills.

I had a uncle give me a book when I was just starting out that was nothing but Flamenco right had strumming and fingering stuff..  at the time I wasn't interested in it but years later I was feeling down about my style and felt it was lacking.. I was going through magazines for tabs and just grabbing at anything when I came across the book I had put up.. I got it down and worked my way through it.. some of it was easy , some very hard. but I gained a lot of information and insight into a style I had never thought of before.. It gave me ideas I would never have been able to come up with .

spam?

August 13th, 2008 + 9:08 PM  ·  toastedgoat

this is spam.. Jim the bass player has been working with some video editing stuff.. He put this video together.
I thought it was pretty cool. We are going to do another one shot at Saturdays gig. It should be cool, we are having anyone who wants to bring a video camera bring one and shoot any thing they think is cool.  Then we are going to ask them to get the videos to us, Jim will then splice/dice,and do his thing.  It should be cool.

You can check out the one he just did @

Recording Drums

July 15th, 2008 + 1:07 AM  ·  toastedgoat

Well . I have been fighting the drums sounds for sometime now.  I guess I am a slow learner. It was mentioned that a fast easy way to fix up our live "studio" drums was to get some drums samples and add to it (Marino I think).  I wasn't sure what he was talking about so I did some research, one of the guys on here mentioned  EZ Drummer.. I checked it out, liked what I saw, and purchased the starter ,plus add-on library of sounds.  This is by far the easiest freakin way to get good drum sounds.  I can tweak the kit to the way I like., set the velocities and pans in a super easy fashion ( I know that some of you have been using this for years but it is new to me).  I was able to get a very decent drum track down (complete with fills ect.) in about 1 1/2 hrs out of the box.

I would recommend this software or any that is similar...... software made just for the purpose of putting down excellent drum tracks.  It is so easy and  the sounds are great.

I will put some stuff up (on the amp) in the near future.
